Awaken to the ever changing glorious pre-dawn light. Crimson, red, purple and orange colours wash the sky and Great Oyster Bay. Watery greys look equally majestic from Avalon. Look out for the white bellied sea eagle that passes every morning.
Enjoy the delightful breakfast provisions and plan your day or don't plan your day - just let it evolve. You can simply sit and read the interesting books from the Avalon collection, swim at the secluded beach at the bottom of the path, go fishing, walking, collect shells or - head to Swansea or Freycinet to enjoy the splendour of the east coast.
As the dance of the evening sky unfolds cook yourself up a storm in Avalon's beautiful kitchen using your own goodies. Or embark on creating a memorable meal using our 'Wursthaus' gourmet mini bar provisions; luscious eye fillet steak, cheeses, olives, crusty bread, pasta and sauces all ready for you to prepare.
Light the fire, pour a glass of selected Tasmanian wine and watch the moon rise over the Freycinet Peninsula or gaze at the stars. You can watch a DVD from Avalon’s library or just snuggle up on her lichen inspired orange couch. Sleep in the Stuart Houghton made Tasmanian oak beds, dream the evening away and awaken to the glorious pre-dawn light.
Surrendering yourself to the Avalon rhythm is a unique experience.

Terms and Conditions
A maximum of 6 guests permitted. Should you wish to invite a small number of day time visitors please check first with Avalon's host.
We are happy to accommodate guests over the age of 12.
Outdoor smoking only.
All bookings include breakfast provisions.
50% deposit is required to secure your booking.
Any cancellations given outside 7 days from time of check in will attract a $100.00 administrative fee. As we would naturally prefer you to stay with us, should you wish to postpone instead of cancel your stay, we will permit you to transfer your booking deposit to another time within 12 months and we will provide you a Gift Voucher for the balance with no deduction of the administrative fee. Any cancellations or postponements with less than 7 days' notice will result in the deposit being forfeited. Non arrivals attract a full tariff being charged
The balance and any minibar charges are payable on departure.

If you are driving from Swansea:
Enjoy the beautiful scenery, Spikey Bridge, Kelvedon beach, pass Kabuki By the Sea, down the wiggly bits of the road, pass by several turnouts, slow down here and you will see the large stone pillars on the left, turn in - you have arrived.
If you are driving from Orford:
After about 30 minutes you will hit the water of Great Oyster Bay and Mayfield Camp Ground and the road narrows and starts to climb up a small hill. You will see the Rocky Hills township sign, slow down it is the next driveway on the right. The large stone pillars will greet you - Welcome.

Avalon Coastal Retreat
For beautiful functions at Avalon Coastal Retreat
Functions can be booked at Avalon, but must include a 2 night stay. Our whole of house accommodation rates for 2012/13 are:
$900.00 per night Sunday to Thursday
$1,000.00 per night Friday & Saturday
Function rates charges are below and are in addition to the accommodation tariffs above:
Up to 8 people - Complimentary
9-20 people - $1,800.00
21-80 people - $2,800.00
Function fees include:
- The venue
- Existing internal and external lighting
- Barbeque
- Firewood
- Rubbish bins
- Guests must ensure premises are cleaned to the same standard as they were provided, both internally and externally after your function. Please discuss with the manager if furniture is to be re-arranged.
Guests will need to arrange:
- Caterers, we can provide a list
- Crockery
- Glassware
- Cutlery
- Additional seating and tables
- Linen
- Music
- As on-site parking is limited, please discuss your guests’ parking requirements with your host when viewing the property prior to your function.
Times
Check in time is at 3.00pm. Earlier check in can be arranged (ie 1.00pm) depending on the departure time of previous guests. Housekeepers may still be on the site until 3.00pm.
Other: Please note for weddings, due to the location of the venue, we do not allow fireworks, confetti, rice or flower petals.

Payment
50% deposit of the function fee is required to secure the booking and the balance is payable 7 days prior to the function, payable by credit card (fees apply) or by direct deposit. Please contact our booking office on 1300 36 11 36 if you wish to make alternative arrangements (direct deposit, alternative credit card) otherwise we will debit your credit card 7 days prior to your stay.
